Mental health is more than just the absence of illness; it is about living life to its fullest, even in the face of challenges.

Every experience, whether joyful or difficult, offers a chance to better understand ourselves, clarify what we value, and explore who we want to become.

As we learn how our mind and emotions work, and develop the skills to navigate difficult thoughts and feelings, we build psychological flexibility — allowing us to take purposeful action to create positive changes in our lives.

Dr. Bua

As a third-culture individual, I hold deep respect for individual differences and practice in ways that are culturally sensitive. This value is reflected in my counselling approach, which is grounded in strengths-based and person-centered principles. I strive to understand each person’s unique experience, meet them where they are, and support them in deepening self-awareness, developing psychological skills, and taking actions that bring meaning and vitality to all areas of life.

Evidence-based Counselling Approaches

Focuses on the person’s existing resources e.g., personal strengths, experiences, and support system, to solve current issues (solution-focused, rather than problem-focused).

Prioritises the person’s experiences, beliefs, and perspectives, and empowers each individual to find their own well-fitting solutions.

Focuses on the person’s strengths and resourcefulness to tackle and learn from challenges, and make positive and meaningful changes.

Uses strategies such as gratitude, savouring, and effective goal- setting strategies to improve wellbeing.

By practising being present, opening up, and doing what matters, the person takes action to live a rich and meaningful life.

Working together with families, support networks, and other services to create an environment where each person can grow and thrive

She gave helpful suggestions and we made a plan to help me work on my mental health. I really enjoyed my time with her and I undoubtedly recommend her to anyone who would like more support."
